Church Planting in New York State

About the Planter

I felt God’s calling at age of 16 and left my country to be missionary in India. God has used me since then to reach out Nepali speaking people and train young people in India, Nepal and US. We are here in US since 2004 and we were able to plant 2 churchs by His grace. We are excited about new journey here in Elmhurst and waiting to see how God is going to use us to reach out Nepali speaking.

About the Church/Area

We are currently serving in Elmhurst-Queens to reach out Nepali speaking. Elmhurst is neighborhood originally founded in 1652 by the Dutch now has total population of 183,871 from all around the world.

Over 100 language are spoken and 34% is Asian. Elmhurst is one of the most diverse zip codes in NYC where 71% of Elmhurst residents, or 77,100 people are foreign born.

Nepali population is yet to make it to top 20 foreign-born populations in Elmhurst.
35.5% Queens residents have limited English proficiency, lack of meaningful afterschool program for immigrant youth, and the workforce lack vital information about their rights and protections in the community.

Immigrants women are victims of domestic violence or human trafficking and stay in abusive situations for fear of deportation or reprisals. Hospitals emergency rooms are overcrowded because of immigrant families lack adequate health care. Elmhurst has highest rate of uninsured population.Elmhurst hospital serves 20.7% of Metal health patient. This is highest among the hospitals of Queens. Nepali speaking Sherpa approximately  30,000 (largest population outside India and Nepal)

We are looking for partner to reach out Nepali speaking in Elmhurst and Jackson Heights. We welcome short mission trip to individual who are willing to serve within church or outside for long term as well. Our plan of community center where we can provide different help to our community such as ESL, Immigrants help, counseling etc and in need of fund. As a planter we are in need of our monthly financially support from partner who are willing not only serve with us but pray for us.
