The Journey Church – Buffalo, NY

About the Planter

My wife and I were born and raised in Buffalo, NY.  I was licensed to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ in 2003 and ordained in 2016.  During my early years in ministry the Lord began to reveal a need for a church plant on the east side of Buffalo.  In 2005 my wife and I married and relocated to Orlando, FL. (Apopka, FL to be exact).  During my time in Florida, I worked as an urban planner for my professional career, and served as a Christian Education Director, and facilitated, taught, and trained pastors and leaders in various conferences and seminars in ministry.  I have also began (and continue) my seminary training at NOBTS.

In December 2015, the Lord has led my family and I back to Buffalo, NY to begin to fulfill the vision He has for the great City of Buffalo.  It wasn’t long after that that the Lord revealed our journey, and hence named the church - “The Journey Church.” In the summer of 2016 I created “LifeChat.”  LifeChat is an Interactive Bible Fellowship that we hold at a local coffee café to reach the lost and engage the community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

My wife Rashika and I will be celebrating 12 years of marriage in the month of May. Together, we have one son, Hezekiah, who is 10, years old.

Why (East Side) Buffalo?

Over the past ten years the city of Buffalo has experienced a renaissance like never before.  The once rustbelt city now has a vibrant downtown, significant public/private investments in many of the much needed parts of the City.  The population is steadily increasing with residents from various parts of the country and around the world.  Although the east side has its share of success stories, there is still a need for ministry to reach this ever increasing demographic.

We are a committed to the call to evangelize to non-believers, while empowering believers of all cultures to learn their Purpose in Christ, Prepare them to live for Christ, so that they may walk in Power with Christ.
